Glass Floating Frames from Frame USA

Behind the scenes, at Frame USA we have an entire team of people who are in charge of bringing out new and exciting products. In the past year or so, we’ve brought out Painted Barnwood which is our best-selling Barnwood Frame painted with 4 wildly popular colors. In addition, we’ve brought out our Canvas Floater frames in three new colors, and modified our Appalachian line to provide a flat profile in Appalachian Narrow. It’s now time for the next one!

This next product is so exciting and unique that we’re giving you a sneak peek before it actually launches. A framing trend that we’ve seen pick up in popularity is floating your pieces within the frame. Whether you accomplish that through shadow boxes or by using foam core or matting it, floating your image allows for the ENTIRE piece to be shown including the edges. The team got together and found a way to make this process even simpler. Introducing our brand new, Glass Floating Picture Frame.

Glass Floating Frame

This new line utilizes the best-selling moulding, Architect, in three neutral colors, two pieces of glass, and glazier points. The frame will be available in Black, Honey, and Natural. It will include a kit complete with a sawtooth hanger and glazier points. These points are the crucial part of the floating feature. They allow for your art piece to be suspended between the two pieces of glass. Different than typical flex points that come pre-inserted into our frames, these will need to be inserted into the frame. They are installed once your art has been sandwiched between the glass using a flat head screwdriver.

Once the art has been inserted and the points and sawtooth installed, your glass floating picture frame will be ready to hang. This statement-making frame provides a delicate touch to any art that it goes around. Whether you’re framing a wedding invite or a family heirloom, the piece will stand out in a way, unlike any other framed art.

Specifications of the Line.

The glass floating picture frame will be limited (at first) to two sizes, 8×10 and 11×14. Don’t be afraid to reach out to our customer service team if there is a specific size you’re wanting. Due to the fragility of the glass, 11×14 will be the largest size in this series. If you’re curious about the installation, check out this video to see it in action!

Stay tuned for the launch of this new product and as always share your finished pieces with us!

  1. I purchased the honey frame, 8×10, the glazier points are impossible to get in with a flat head. Any pointers?

    • Hi Laurie! Using a flat head you’ll apply firm pressure to the edge of the glazier points and wiggle it in little by little!
