As most of you know, Build A Frame is a great web application used to custom-build your frame without the expense of visiting a custom framer. (When you’re spending $150 online vs. spending $300-$400 at a retail framer — the only difference is price!)
Now at these great prices, how can you be sure of the quality? Luckily, we have that covered. Our framers are top-notch experts in the framing industry – extensively trained on joining frames, cutting precise meaurements, mat selections and fine-tuning the details exactly like you want them. These framers also work for our retail store at our warehouse in Cincinnati, OH – not only are they experts in the field, but they deal with custom orders and customers on a daily basis.
Whether you’re wanting to frame a piece of art you have at home, a Posterservice art print or upload your own image for us to print, we’ll customize your piece to be the perfect fit for you. Check out the Build A Frame feature here!

From the Frame USA family to yours: Happy 4th of July weekend!
This narrow black picture frame has always been a favorite. Luckily, we have plenty of other great options!
As part of our efforts to keep customers aware of our frame product line, we’re going to be posting discontinued and brand-new products here as soon as we find out! Usually we love gushing about how beautiful and intricate our new frames are, but discontinued series are just as important if you’re particularly fond of a frame.
This time, our Tuxedo Narrow moulding has been discontinued by our vendors. One of our favorites, the Tuxedo Narrow is a black eco-friendly wood frame with a thin strip of shiny material along the inside that accents artwork with more of a focal point than your standard frame. Fortunately, our vendor still plans to keep Tuxedo Wide in stock, so if it’s the look you’re going for, be sure to check it out!
If the series appeal is the narrow profile, however, we would recommend our Black series. The narrow profile on our Black series is also angled, giving it a 3-dimensional look from afar that the Tuxedo series also offers. If you’d like help in finding out what would look best with your artwork, you can always email our sales team here and they will be glad to help!
Choosing office decor may not be as simple as you think – interior decorating says volumes about your business.
For those with a business that sees plenty of through-traffic such as hotels, restaurants, marketing firms, cafes or studios: art and interior design are a major selling point of what your business entails.
Let’s start with the hotel example. Think of a time where you have stayed in a nice resort, or maybe a refreshing getaway where the artwork matched the theme of the surrounding environments. Of course, the focus of any average getaway hotel is ambience and design over the importance of displayed content, but the chosen wall decor of your business will undoubtedly be noticed at some point by your guests and clientele.
So what sorts of wall art would fit your company the most? Consider your target audience, and who will be viewing this art the most (aside from yourself, of course!) If you specialize in design or architecture, perhaps displaying blueprints and sketches would be a great way to capitalize on your wall space. For restaurants, photos of famous/local celebrities eating at your establishment make interesting conversation pieces. Other ideas include photos of the owner, the establishment during construction, group photos of your staff and visually interesting products that your business sells.
If your line of business doesn’t work with much imagery (and chances are, it does to some extent) you can always find related imagery to frame and display. For instance, if you are a dog groomer, you could post a fun bulletin board with pictures of various dogs you’ve groomed over the year. You could also post artistic images of barber salons, dog photography, or imagery that fits your brand. You don’t have to limit yourself to subject matter so long as the imagery supports the branding of your business in some way.
In closing, the decor of your business space is meant not only to demonstrate what your business is all about, but to help convert more sales. The customer or client is already in your office, so you don’t need to go to great lengths to impress them. Let your wall art and branding encourage them to trust you with their business.

Everyone loves a good deal. And while most of our Closeouts tend to go from anywhere between 20-30% off, we also know that it can be incredibly easy to miss out on a good deal. This time, we decided to extend our sale to a week-long savings event. Not only will you save 10% on already-cheap and high-quality picture frames — you’ll have an entire week to save big on all of our closeout inventory!
Frame Closeouts allows you to pick between wood, premium wood, metal, poster and polystyrene frames. The frames then break down into sizes, which you pick and receive at random (like a “grab bag” approach). This is perfect if you are looking for a large number of cheap frames and don’t really mind what series you are receiving.
Don’t forget to save 30% on 5×7 Walnut Wood frames on FrameCloseouts.com, either! Coupon Code: 57waln. Expires 4.21.2014.
Which of our closeout lines to you use the most? Leave a comment below and let us know!
Some of the best frames are also the most simple. That’s the idea behind this week’s picture frame sale of the week.
Whether you’re looking for a standard 2″ (or more) 8×10 frame or a cheap, high-quality frame to handle a large amount of your work, you won’t be disappointed with this week’s frame sales. The theme this week is simple and cheap framing; or frames that will bring out the best look in your art without taking away from the look of your art. There is a fine balance between “simple” and “accenting” that you must find, so minimalist pieces will always look good in the CBG frames.
If you’re going for archival, museum quality framing, you may want to have a look at the premium wood 8×10 closeout frames. They are indeed Closeouts, and therefore very cheap to begin with, but also feature our more substantial mouldings.
So, which sale would be best for you? That’s a decision that you’ll have to make! You can combine them both in the same order though, if you prefer. These sales come out every Monday, so be sure to check in regularly and stay up on the latest deals from Frame USA and FrameCloseouts!
Frame USA has been using a product called styrene—which is a plexiglass type material– in our larger picture frames since we began operations over 30 years ago.
For most of this time the styrene used in our picture frames has been purchased domestically from a large plastic manufacturer in the United States.
In the 4th quarter of 2013, this plastic manufacturer, through its distributor, came to us and let us know that they were raising the price of our styrene product by 67% over the first six months of 2014. This huge price increase came despite almost no increase in raw materials prices or resin increases. According to the sales manager at this manufacturer, “we believe the styrene product was undervalued in the marketplace” and this lead to the incredibly large 67% increase that is taking place.
“We want our customers to know that we are shocked at our vendor’s behavior which has lead to a major increases in our product prices effective today”, said Daniel P. Regenold, CEO of Frame USA. We are even more shocked that a vendor we have worked with for such a long time would take such negative action.
This increase in price is happening after consolidation in the clear styrene market took place in the last several years.
Frame USA is taking every step possible to find a more stable source of plastic material that will go in our picture frames in the future. We will not allow one company to artificially move the market price of material used in our American Made picture frames to the detriment of our customers. We are sorry about the need to increase our prices of our picture frames because of this unwarranted large raw material price increase.
Next week, we’ll be traveling to Las Vegas for the next installment of the West Coast Art and Frame show. We’ll be joined by some of the biggest names in the industry (Larson Juhl, Tru-View, Pictureframes.com, etc.) as well as hundreds of small business owners, custom framers and artists. We’re excited for this opportunity to interact with others in our industry!
The art and framing industry is constantly changing, and it’s a great time to be a part of it all. Be sure to follow us on Twitter for updates and the latest news from the show.
