A photo wall is a wall frame display similar to your own mini art gallery. Basically, it is a ton of different sized photos thrown on a wall with some kind of order to it. These photo walls are a popular way to display family portraits, artwork, or any type of memory you want to share with the world.
A popular place many people are designing their photo wall is around their staircases. A photo wall display easily livens up a usually boring staircase and is the perfect area to place smaller wall frames. As you walk up or down the steps you can arrange the wall frames to gradually age for a nice effect.
One way to spice up your photo wall is to use shelves to help display your pictures. The majority of photo walls are simply a collection of photos hung together that all have a matching theme. Using shelves is an underrated means to add a different feel to your photo wall. Also, using a ledge display can save space because you can layer your photos in order to fit more in a smaller space, something that’s not as easy when arranging them on a photo wall.
On a similar accord, monograms are a nice decorative design that can add flair to you photo walls. This is especially prevalent if you are hanging family photos as it can be a nice way to identify the people photographed as well as break up the monotony of the photos.
The newest trend in photo walls is taking full advantage of your bathroom. Similar to how photo walls can be used to liven up a staircase, these wall frames can also bring to life a bland bathroom.
A mistake that some people don’t even consider when embarking on their own photo wall journey is sticking with only the standard photo size. The wall frames you chose to hang on your photo wall do not have to be uniform. In fact, using different photo sizes as opposed is a great way to make your photo wall less repetitive.
Lastly, make sure you know the proper methods of how to hang photos so as not to damage the wall or the frame and get started today!

Did you know that we offer wood mounting / plaquing services at Frame USA and Posterservice? Check out our video to see the process.
Recently, we’ve had a lot of great plaque customers place orders for a variety of reasons. Some are artists, looking for an affordable way to distribute their work en masse. Some are large companies, trying to find unique ways to spend their advertising budget. Some are graduates who want their diplomas preserved. Whatever the reason, plaque mounting is here to stay as one of our most recommended options for long-term image preservation (unless, of course, your print has great value or needs a more archival touch. In this case, framing is your best bet).
While we will always stand behind picture frames and their ability to preserve an image (particularly when the frame compliments the art so well), there is something to be said about wood-mounted plaques. A plaqued image shows the art in its entirety, without the distraction of an outside border. Also, since the print is laminated flat against the wood, there is virtually no chance that the inside image will warp or crease over time, which may happen in a frame if not sized correctly.

We had the privelege to show off our very own “Beer” poster on A&E’s Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job!
For those who have never seen the show, the couple Brandi and Jarrod are originally from the show Storage Wars on A&E. This couple’s constant tension and interesting dynamic has created an interest in the couple’s day to day life, resulting in their own reality show called Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job. It was only several weeks ago that we received an email from the A&E studios asking if they could show our very own image on their next episode. We were more than happy to oblige!
Here is the image to look out for:
If this item strikes your fancy after seeing the episode, you can purchase your very own poster here.

This month, we check Pinterest for some great DIY projects for framing and “Around the House” decor.
Doing big projects yourself can save you and your family hundreds of dollars — particularly when it comes to home renovations and making your decor stand out. It doesn’t have to be expensive to look expensive, and really, that’s what crafting your own projects is all about. In this blog, we’ll show you some great ways to make an ordinary frame into something far more extraordinary. You can find these ideas and more by visiting our Pinterest page!
Use a picture frame shell to hang your keys
If Pinterest has taught us anything, it’s that frames aren’t just for framing pictures! Take this example, where a crafty DIY-er screwed some basic wall hooks into the interior of their frame. Search around online and you’ll find plenty of uses for frames besides hanging art: chalkboards, mirrors, hangers and more have been crafted from any standard frame.
Give your frames a new look with dipped corners
Need to spice up a frame, or add a better focal point for your image? Try (carefully) dipping the four corners of your frame into a can of paint! The result takes on the appearance of what is shown above. The tricky part is knowing how far to dip, but a good rule is to measure about 1-2 inches on each side, mark it with a pencil, and then proceed to dip. This is great for matching more than one color in a room, or spicing up your simple black picture frames you may have around the house.
Spray-paint an ornate frame for a more simple, subdued elegant picture frame
While the burlap letter art within the frames are great, we’re more impressed by the paint job on the frames themselves. Some ornate, some simple–a decent spray paint job can entirely changle the look of a frame for the better. While we take pride in our premium wooden frames, we could definitely see series like the victorian and napoleon working very well in the style shown above.
As always, don’t be afraid to think outside the box (or frame)!
Framing is oftentimes most interesting when there is an experimental element added on. Take the image above for example: the separation of the branch is unified throughout the three frames. The aesthetic of the piece is phenomenal, and the crafter only used three frame shells and a branch!

For art, wall decor, humor posters and more, you won’t find a better selection for the price!
Posters and wall art have always been an important part of what we do at Frame USA, Inc. With framing being our primary expertise, we also know what looks good inside of those frames. From fine art and pop culture to “Spencer’s-style” humor, we keep a wide variety of imagery available to customers who want a one stop shop for wall art.
Some of our best sellers fall under the Education and Humor sections. Our specialty with posters includes our wholesale ordering, where you can buy a rack of posters and we’ll simply refill your order any time at a great rate! You can also find our hottest posters over on Amazon or eBay with options to frame or mount them on wood.
Pictured Above: An antique map of the USA. This of course being before the colonies were broken up into the states we know today.
Pictured below: The US Constitution. This is one of the most important documents to display for any history teacher, and it looks great as a 24×36 poster.
We’re not just about college humor and whimsy, however. Posterservice has always been at the top when it comes to pop culture and the biggest trends in entertainment. We’ve also launched a great campaign to find more art that our customers enjoy, still sticking to our roots with surrealness and progressive themes. Particularly relevant lately is our new HR Giger poster, featuring Giger’s own artwork for the Alien movie. (Ironically, we published this only days prior to his passing. A sad time indeed for those growing up loving his art and contributions to sci-fi!)

Choosing office decor may not be as simple as you think – interior decorating says volumes about your business.
For those with a business that sees plenty of through-traffic such as hotels, restaurants, marketing firms, cafes or studios: art and interior design are a major selling point of what your business entails.
Let’s start with the hotel example. Think of a time where you have stayed in a nice resort, or maybe a refreshing getaway where the artwork matched the theme of the surrounding environments. Of course, the focus of any average getaway hotel is ambience and design over the importance of displayed content, but the chosen wall decor of your business will undoubtedly be noticed at some point by your guests and clientele.
So what sorts of wall art would fit your company the most? Consider your target audience, and who will be viewing this art the most (aside from yourself, of course!) If you specialize in design or architecture, perhaps displaying blueprints and sketches would be a great way to capitalize on your wall space. For restaurants, photos of famous/local celebrities eating at your establishment make interesting conversation pieces. Other ideas include photos of the owner, the establishment during construction, group photos of your staff and visually interesting products that your business sells.
If your line of business doesn’t work with much imagery (and chances are, it does to some extent) you can always find related imagery to frame and display. For instance, if you are a dog groomer, you could post a fun bulletin board with pictures of various dogs you’ve groomed over the year. You could also post artistic images of barber salons, dog photography, or imagery that fits your brand. You don’t have to limit yourself to subject matter so long as the imagery supports the branding of your business in some way.
In closing, the decor of your business space is meant not only to demonstrate what your business is all about, but to help convert more sales. The customer or client is already in your office, so you don’t need to go to great lengths to impress them. Let your wall art and branding encourage them to trust you with their business.

Artist Evelyn Henson Gives Readers a Quick Framing 101
Choosing the right frame for your business can be a lot of hard work. Having the right frame for the job takes both intuition and some pretty basic knowledge of what makes a good complete work of framed art.
This weekend, we discovered an article written by Evelyn Henson that went into some good details about what to buy, where to buy and what kinds of frames go best in any given situation. Join us while we summarize this article (while also adding our own advice as framers!)
One of the highlights we spotted was to be sure that you’re personally in love with the frame. Before you even think about the artwork, think about how you’ll feel months and even years down the line with that frame on your wall. Once you’ve found a few that fit that criteria, you’ll want to try and see what matches best with your particular artwork. You can also work backwards if you’ve found a great frame, but have no art. Websites like Posterservice.com offer a wide variety of art prints that are more than reasonably priced.
Another question the artist posed was the source of frame material. Knowing whether you’re looking for wood, metal or plastic will save you time and money in the long run. As a general rule:
Plastic frames are best used for posters or a more thin printed material.
Wood frames are usually some of the best in the market. While Henson was of the opinion that white is the best color, this can be problematic if the frame has defective joins or scratches. We prefer black picture frames, and based on the thousands of orders we see for them, we have to agree with the majority! Black is a very standard, very impressive color for most artwork.
Metal picture frames typically go well with modern art pieces and minimalist concepts.
We hope this little tidbit of information has helped you with your framing purchase. Have a great day, and let us know in the comments what your favorite type of frames are!
