Art has a way of healing. For both the its creator and the audience experiencing it. It’s a bridge that connects two individuals—and sometimes m groups—allowing them to communicate experiences and emotions. It is powerful and it can save lives. The Cincinnati based non-profit organization Visionaries and Voices helps disabled artists—artists who want very much to be heard—by providing studio space. supplies, education and exhibition. They also help the community at large by allowing us to experience what those artists are communicating.
Frame USA is proud to partner with Visionaries and Voices to provide Studio Space and other materials here in our building. For the month of April we will be donating to Visionaries and Voices.
“Established in 2003, Visionaries + Voices is a non-profit organization that provides representation, studio space, supplies, and support to more than 140 visual artists with disabilities. V+V artists actively contribute to the greater arts community through creative, educational, and strategic partnerships with local and regional artists, schools, and business leaders. Collectively, we are growing a more inclusive arts community in Greater Cincinnati.
We create a world in which artists with disabilities not only produce and share works of art, but are also given continuous opportunities to learn, develop professionally, collaborate, exhibit, and celebrate with community members.”
We are proud to support this great organization. Be sure to donate during the checkout process to help us support this great charity!
Our retail store located in Cincinnati, Ohio is a proud home to one of the best non-profit art projects and studios in the area. As many of you know, Frame USA hosts a studio for Visionaries and Voices: a non-profit organization dedicated to providing artists with disabilities a chance to develop personally, creatively and professionally. We provide them a space for creating art, selling art and exhibiting art in multiple locations. As far as non-profit organizations go, it’s one we’ve partnered with and appreciated to no end!
On May 2, Visionaries and Voices celebrated their 7th anniverary of being a non-profit at our retail store location. The night held a number of events, from auctioning off art to live music and digital imagery. As an art exhibition, the event sold 31 pieces of art and made a lot of great connections between artists, buyers, customers and friends. Along with events such as Double Vision, these exhibitions encourage the social, professional and creative development in artists with disablities.
Melodic Connections was also at the event, providing live musical entertainment to all guests and artists.
You can find art from Visionaries and Voices at the location below. We invite you to follow them on Facebook to keep updated on the latest events, and stop into our retail store to find what they have for sale! The art in our store is always changing and improving, and V+V is a very big and important part of that.

An artist from Visionaries + Voices is creating some big excitement here at Frame USA and Posterservice. Posterservice is continuously licensing work from great artists internationally to use for posters, and we are excited to announce that we have officially licensed artwork from an artist from V+V for poster production! “Light of Hope” from Candi Branham is now available as a 24×36 poster in our store, and on the Posterservice website.
Candi has worked as an artist from the V+V studios for about 3 and a half years. She was initially inspired by her mother’s creative ability as a t-shirt designer. She says the best part of being an artist is sharing her work with others.
Candi’s colorful painting embodies her infectiously positive attitude, and the angels you see in ‘Light of Hope’ are her signature design. These angels carry a very important meaning; they stand as colorful memorials to loved ones she has lost. In particular, they are meant to reflect the vitality of her late nephew, whose passing has had a significant impact on her life. She believes that creating each angel helps her to keep his energy alive and to share it with the community.
‘Light of Hope’ was created for V+V’s biggest fundraiser of the year — Double Vision. Artists working throughout Cincinnati and artists working from V+V come together to form new partnerships and collectives. The results of these collaborations is then showcased and sold at a live art auction. Double Vision is in its fifth year of celebrating creativity and supporting the nonprofit programs at V+V.
Candi collaborated with Jill Romansky, and when asked what her experience was like, Candi said “Fun! I really liked working with Jill”. Jill painted the sky and the white light of the background, and together they painted all of the angels. When ‘Light of Hope’ was auctioned at the end of the event, Frame USA had the winning bid. The original painting now hangs in the upstairs offices.
When Candi created ‘Light of Hope’ with Jill, it was her first time participating in Double Vision. She plans to return to the show in 2014, and is excited for what this year has in store.
Lastly, we just had to ask how Candi felt about being at the center of all the buzz surrounding her image being produced as a poster. She just had one word to describe her feelings on being published with Posterservice: “Proud!”
