My name is Dorian Richards and I’m a new face in the customer service department. Before arriving here, I knew nothing about framing and all it entails. Once I was able to learn, it sparked my interest in things I didn’t really value before. I had a desire to frame and display what matters to me the most. Of course, that would be my family.
My first picture is a few random photos of memories that I’ve shared with them. There is never a dull moment when it comes to my family. From a grandparent showing his grandchild the art of Indian poker or your mom photo bombing your selfie, these are moments I never wanted to forget. It shows exactly what it reads at the top “Family is everything”.
My second photo is my lovely parents! This photo is something I really cherish. My mom and dad have been married more than 25 yrs. They give me something to look up to. This picture was taken on my mom’s 50th birthday. With all these great memories that I have, they are made even more special with the perfect frame. If you love your family as much as I do, I would recommend keeping these moments alive by putting them in the quality frame.

Summer time in the good ole’ USA means baseball is in full swing. And we here at Frame USA are fortunate to work in one
of the greatest baseball cities in America: Cincinnati, Ohio, the home of the Cincinnati Reds. If you’re a baseball fan, you know that the Cincinnati Reds had one of the greatest dynasties in all of sports, The Big Red Machine. In the 1970’s baseball greats such as Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, and Tony Perez (among others) came together to win five National League pennants, and two World Series titles! Wow, what an accomplishment! But I’m sure you’re asking, what does any of this have to do with picture frames?
Well, we have an equally great team in place here at Frame USA. Just call us The Big Frame Machine. Only instead of winning pennants and World Series titles, we’re working hard every day to create raving fans. Any customer who logs onto the FrameUSA.com site to purchase any of our American-made products can be sure that a lot of time and care will go into each order; you’re going to have a team full of Peter Rose’s and Joe Morgan’s in our warehouse cutting and assembling your frames, making sure each one is a winner for you. And if you’re not sure what you’re looking for, or can’t decide between one of our awesome wood or metal frames? Don’t worry, just give us a call and your own personal Johnny Bench or Tony Perez (including yours truly) will be ready and willing to get you from first to home safely. We’re always happy to interact with our fans; you’re the reason we get out of bed each morning!
At Frame USA we understand how important the photos and memories you’re looking to preserve are to you. So whether you’re purchasing a poster frame for your kid’s college dorm, buying a wooden frame for your recent family photo, or ordering a set of metal frames to decorate your new office, you can be sure that whatever you order will be a home run. Now go hop on the website and knock one out of the park. Happy shopping!

For those of you who don’t know, Frame USA is extremely dedicated to helping those in need. The Monthly Charitable Gift Program started many years back and ever since then we have supported local and national charities in a number of different outlets. We not only donate money, our time and other needed resources but we use our website and retail store as a way to make these deserving charities known to the masses. Unlike other companies that choose a charity, not only does every single penny that is donated by our customers go to that respective charity, but we as a company use our success as a way to give back. For every purchase of picture frames made on our website, no matter if the customer themselves donates, we donate $0.75. In our retail store, for every custom framing order we donate $1.00. In the month of September, we donated over $1,500 to our two charities of the month.
The Month of November has the lucky opportunity to be a month where people everywhere think about just how thankful they are for everything that they have been given. I’m sure that everyone can agree that there is nothing more wonderful than sitting down with your family and friends as you all fill yourselves full with a nice warm meal and feeling the warmth of their love. Some people aren’t this lucky, in fact, 1 in 6 neighbors in our Tri-State area of Cincinnati is at risk of hunger. Of that number, nearly 100,000 are kids. This statistic shocked us and really solidified our decision for our November Charity of the Month. This November, for our charity we have chosen The Freestore Foodbank.
The Freestore Foodbank was started in 1971 by a worker at Cincinnati’s incinerator named Frank Gerson. Gerson saw in his profession useable household items being tossed away. He began to collect those items and give them away to families in need. He was so passionate about this that he quit his job and opened for business in his apartment called the Free Store. 8 years later the Free Store became a founding member of Feeding America. It was around this time that the Free Store evolved into the Freestore Foodbank. Today, it is under the leadership of Kurt Reiber and it is one of Ohio’s largest food banks. Annually, this organization distributes 20 million meals through a network of about 260 community partner agencies serving 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The vision of The Freestore Foodbank is to be the leader of a community mobilized to end hunger and address its causes.
We ask that as you begin buying your holiday presents, and start thinking about how thankful you are for the people and things in your life that you consider being the reason someone else is thankful this holiday season. We’ve made it as simple as clicking a button (Here’s a little secret for you: that is in fact what you do to participate, you click a button to donate $1 as you are completing your order of picture frames online).
For more information about this month’s Charity of the Month and the different programs they are involved in on top of their main mission, please visit their website at http://freestorefoodbank.org/.
Frame USA loves to have fun, we host several events for our employees however we rarely share them with our customers. Since today is all about being someone you’re not we thought we would let our customers in on the fun! Today’s festivities included: a pumpkin decorating/carving contest, a costume contest, and festive snacks. All of today’s winners for both the pumpkin decorating/carving contest as well as the costume contest will be posted on our instagram, so check it out!
It’s A Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!
We posted early last week a sneak peak picture on our instagram of all the pumpkins that we got to give out to our employees. Two employees spent hours weighing pumpkins to find the perfect selection, and boy did our employees deliver with their creations! We have some hidden talent for pumpkin decorating/carving in our midst. Our CEO gave us a challenge that if 50% of all of our employees decorate a pumpkin Frame USA will donate an additional $250 to our November Charity of the Month The Freestore FoodBank. Our employees delivered and we had 35 pumpkins that were brought in decorated/carved. Our employees then voted on what their 3 favorite pumpkins were. We had 4 winners for this competition, with a tie for second place. We would absolutely love to hear what our customers think are the best pumpkins and to see some of the creations you and your family came up with!
When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours on Halloween!
You probably are thinking to yourself how can employees that work in a warehouse really dress up during the day. Well I’m here to tell you that all our employees chose creative costumes that were safe! Below are some of the costumes! Let us know what you and your family are being for Halloween, we would love to see your costumes!
Trick or Treat!
Not only did we have fun with pumpkins and costumes, we are all now in a sugar coma! We had festive goodies during one of the breaks that included apple cider, chips, cookies and cupcakes. Some of our office workers planned a potluck and brought in delicious foods to enjoy for lunch.
One of our employees is getting married soon, so her manager decided to be sneaky and plan a bit of a bridal shower for her. Safe to say she was completely surprised and got some great gifts off her wedding. Congratulations Beth, we all wish you and your soon to be husband a lifetime of happiness!
It’s safe to say that we had a very entertaining Halloween Work day! I hope everyone enjoyed seeing Behind the scenes of Frame USA.
It’s officially the one-year anniversary of our improved website! We’ve added a lot of great features over the last year to make FrameUSA.com your all-in-one art and frame shop on the internet. Today, we thought we would look at our year in review and show off all the features you may not have known about!
Our first order of business after we redesigned FrameUSA.com was to create a web app that shows off our Laser Engraving services. We were so proud of this product that we wanted to set it up first! Perfect for customers looking to buy anywhere from one to a thousand engraved frames, this feature allows you to select a font, frame, engraving plate and even an image that you would like engraved directly on the frame. Needless to say, this was a customer favorite.
Build A Frame
An online custom frame shop! How cool is that? We were especially excited to get this up and running, after having our customers request a service that allows them to visualize their finished frame product as opposed to simply ordering a custom frame and separate mats. To top it off, we allow our customers to upload their own artwork for us to print and frame for them! We also offer options for the customer to order and frame 3 mats from MatDesigners and any of our posters from our sister site, Posterservice.
Related Products and Accessories
Another feature we added was on each of our product pages – Related Products and Accessories. Along with the custom frames and volume order form tabs, Related Products and Accessories are there to make your experience far easier. From these tabs you can select a similar product or an accessory to your frame, such as a sawtooth hanger or wire hanging kit. The best part is, you can add any accessory you’d like and you never have to even leave the page! Simply select the quantity and click “add to cart”.
Redesigned Affiliate Websites
FrameUSA.com wasn’t the only website to undergo a great number of changes – we also added Posterservice.com, Matdesigners.com and FrameCloseouts.com into the mix! Now customers can add items from every website into their cart and check out everything at once! This also allowed us to incorporate Build A Frame into a powerful tool that lets the customer take advantage of all of our websites at once. Click on any of the tabs at the tob of the page on FrameUSA.com to visit them.
Looking Ahead with FrameUSA.com
What sorts of plans does Frame USA have in store for 2014? There’s been rumors swirling of mobile apps, new products, gift card features, video tutorials and more social content from around the office. Follow us on facebook to stay in the loop!
Fill the truck has received some great responses lately, and we couldn’t be happier! From our YouTube videos to our appearances on local news stations and our corporate partners, we’re gaining great exposure for this great initiative. In this post, we will be detailing some information about Fill The Truck — some questions we’ve been asked, how to support Fill The Truck in this last week, and some details about how you can help (even if you can’t afford to donate.)
Fill The Truck is:
A 4-year old charitable initiative that began with Frame USA’s CEO Dan Regenold filling a single truck for the Healing Center. Since then, it’s hosted up to 11 trucks for 11 charities!
A great way to get involved in helping your community if you’re in Cincinnati. By donating online or attending any of our events (even promoting us on Facebook and Twitter), you’re helping more families in need than you can even imagine!
An initiative where companies give back to their communities. We at Frame USA understand that our communities empower us and give us countless opportunities. With Fill The Truck, our goal is to help everyone around us have a chance to succeed.
Fill The Truck is Not:
A separate organization. Fill The Truck is operated and organized by Frame USA with the support of several great corporate partners. You can find these partners by clicking here.
In any way affiliated with Wal-Mart’s campaign. Wal-Mart recently started a Fill The Truck campaign, even designating their own #FillTheTruck hashtag on Twitter. We’re good sports, though, but remember — it all began here! (We’d appreciate it even more if you tag our Twitter page along with the #FillTheTruck hashtag!)
A standalone charity. Rather, Fill The Truck is an initiative that collects food and personal care items for local charities, keeping them stocked for the winter season and beyond. Donations from Frame USA to the Healing Center typically last for around 6 months, depending on their needs!
We hope you enjoyed learning more about Fill The Truck! Be sure to check out our latest video of Ron Burgandy visiting Fill The Truck at Frame USA’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio! Also, be sure to have a look at our appearance on local Channel 5 news.
Etsy Artists and Craftsmen are Welcomed to Help Promote Small Business Saturday with Frame USA
Saturday, November 30th is small business Saturday. While Frame USA is a pretty small business with about 70 employees, a good chunk of our customers are artists and crafty creators that also sell online or in a shop of their town. At Frame USA, we want to show our support to these small businesses and support local economies by offering a great deal to these customers. However, you don’t have to be a Frame USA customer for us to feature your shop! Check out the rules below our promotional image.
As our poster says, we are mainly looking for Etsy art, craft and design creators. Frame USA is an online business and it’s what we know best, so customers with an Etsy account (or other online shopping place) will probably see the most benefit from this initiative. Simply send an email to the address in the image above to get started! If you know anyone who would benefit from a promotion like this, feel free to send it their way.
Thanks for sticking with us, and remember to shop small and shop local!
Frame USA’s Annual Charity Campaign Gains a Great Community Ally for Fill The Truck 2013
This holiday season, Frame USA is continuing the annual FillTheTruck.org campaign, where we pick a few outstanding charities around the Cincinnati area that help a wide range of people who are down on their luck. Around the holidays, these situations are made worse by the drop in temperature and the need for food, warm clothing and supplies to get through the winter season. That’s where Frame USA and Fill The Truck come in. Springing from a company-wide charitable initiative started four years ago, Frame USA CEO Dan Regenold decided to keep filling supply trucks for charities all around the Cincinnati area.
Fill The Truck initially started as one of Frame USA’s monthly charitable initiatives, where we donate $1 for every online order (and ask our customers to join in.)
This year, Furniture Fair is joining the Fill The Truck 2013 initiative to spread the good cheer to even more charities. Our first year running, we mainly focused on supporting one charity. In our second run, we expanded to eleven charities and eleven businesses supporting those charities. Last year we supported six, and this year we’re planning to help a total of seven charities. Furniture Fair’s multiple locations in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area will be hosting storage units, ensuring that each charity will be receiving the means necessary to keep stocked during the winter season.
How to get involved
Helping “Fill The Truck” is actually very simple, and anyone can do it! Here are three ways that YOU can make a difference:
1. Visit FillTheTruck.org and donate to your charity of choice. Frame USA is donating to The Healing Center, but you can choose which of the seven chartities you’d like to support. On each “product” page, we have a list of supplies that are requested from all charities. Simply purchase any of these items and we will organize and distribute them. If you’re not sure what to buy, that’s okay! You can select “donate cash” and we will allocate the money into whatever that specific charity needs the most.
2. If you’re a Cincinnati local, you can drop off the listed donations at any of our truck locations. You can find information on locations by visiting FillTheTruck.org.
3. We understand if the holidays aren’t a great time for you to donate. The poor state of the economy is the reason we run Fill The Truck (as well as spreading some holiday cheer, of course.) If you “like” Frame USA and Fill The Truck on Facebook and even follow us on Twitter, that is a great way to help us out. Share our posts with your friends and help us spread the word that NOBODY should be cold or hungry this holiday season. We’d love to see as many families as possible have good food, warm clothes and the supplies they need for this season.
