I have lived in downtown Cincinnati for over 8 years now and like most downtown living, space is always an issue. You pay a lot for a little. So maximizing your space with proper furniture is paramount. Choosing appropriate sized pieces and not over cluttering is the key to a great living space.
Often forgotten are the walls. Sure, a great paint color on the wall can help open up a space, but putting up unique and interesting art can define a space. Often times you don’t need to spend a lot on artwork if you do a little digging. For example, if you find an artistic poster you could look for a unique or more elegant frame that helps bring that piece together. This way you are not spending hundreds on art work, your only making it look like you did.
Another great option is canvas. Canvas adds a
unique touch to the space and if you choose interesting artwork to display it can really help define your space and personality. Canvas can be on the expensive side but is worth it for the look. Plus, if you can find a shop that is running a deal (like Frame USA) then you can get great art for a bargain.
Don’t be afraid to add framed art to walls, it is one of the best ways to add style and color to your space without taking up a lot of space!
As the Licensing Director at Posterservice, Inc., it’s only appropriate that I share my favorite posters! In compiling this list, it becomes clear that I love the humor posters; to have a funny image on the wall as a reminder to laugh, or at least smile every day. In addition to a slew of humor posters, we have a large variety of other images waiting to adorn your walls, including music, inspirational, photography or art, to name a few.
by Jay Fleck. I love the clean design (I am a graphic designer, after all) and the crazy theme. An eye-patched, sword wielding giraffe is riding a shark as it jumps out of the water, on a mission. I’m not sure where they are going, but it must be important. This poster is a great piece to hang as a reminder to move ‘Onward’ with purpose in the adventure of life; and it’s just funny. This poster will definitely cheer you up if you are having a bad day.
My next favorite Posterservice poster is DJ. Also quite silly, a city-sized groundhog is DJing
among the skyscrapers of New York City. This one makes me smile every time, as he’s in the zone, minding his own business and completely ignoring the circling helicopter. I’m curious as to where such a giant rodent came from, and how he got such a large turntable and headphones to jam out and bring music to the city. The teal circle adds enough color to the grayscale image, emphasizing the furball in all his
We also have many humorous beer posters. Happy Hour makes me chuckle, with the oversized glasses. Don’t you wish your favorite bar had such large glassware? Sometimes there are hot days when a nice (big) glass of beer with a good friend makes everything better. Cariboozeis also funny, with a caribou boozing out, using his antlers as beer holders. He would be a great party mascot! And then of courseAlcoholic Beverages Encouraged is a law-defying poster encouraging people to drink. Nothing like graffiti on a sign to change the law.
This is only a sampling of my favorite posters, and it was hard to pick just a couple. We are always adding new posters to our line, and some of the images in the works are awesome. Check back often to our Coming Soon and Newest sections on www.posterservice.com; you might just find a new favorite poster to hang!
The men and women of our armed services put their lives on the line every day. During active combat they are defending our freedom and fighting for the freedom of others. When they become disabled in the course of their duty they deserve to be taken care of back here at home. Unfortunately they sometimes fall through the cracks. Thankfully there are organizations like the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) who are there to help our soldiers who’ve given more than just time to their country.
To help with the mission, Frame USA will be donating to Disabled American Veterans in appreciation for your online order for the month of October.
“DAV is a nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families, helping more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year. The organization provides more than 700,000 rides for veterans attending medical appointments and assists veterans with more than 300,000 benefit claims annually. In 2015, DAV helped attain more than $4 billion in new and retroactive benefits to care for themselves and for veterans, their families and survivors.
With almost 1,300 chapters and nearly 1.3 million members across the country, DAV empowers our nation’s heroes and their families by helping to provide the resources they need and ensuring our nation keep the promises made to them.”
We are proud to support this great organization. Be sure to donate during the checkout process to help us support this great charity!
Marvel’s new meta action/comedy “Deadpool” just blew the records out of the water for its opening run over Valentine’s weekend and now everyone is anxiously awaiting the next big comic book adaptation. All eyes are focused on the DC battle/team up film “Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
“Batman Vs. Superman” is the introduction to “The Justice League” which DC hopes will be a shared, continuous universe like Marvel’s popular cinematic universe. It would be the first DC movie to feature characters being played by the same actors over multiple individual films and then also teaming up in Justice League films (like Marvel’s Avengers). Several actors from the film “Man of Steel” reprise their roles for “BVS” including Henry Cavill as Superman. With the departure of Christian Bale as Batman (once the Christopher Nolan “Dark Knight” trilogy ended) Warner Bros. and DC needed a new caped crusader. They cast veteran actor/director Ben Affleck to put on the cowl and cape and duke it out with the first
son of Krypton. He will then go on to carry the role through the next forseeable films. Also being introduced in this film are Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (a highly anticipated appearance) and Jason Momoa as Auquaman.
The story is guarded but basically revolves around the idea that Bruce Wayne–the Batman–is worried, in his obsessive, single-minded way, that Superman being a Godlike being, could turn on and ultimately destroy humankind. He makes it his mission to destroy the man of steel before he has a chance to destroy us. The villain Lex Luthor eggs on the battle while plotting to unleash something even more devastating: Doomsday. Somehow Wonder Woman and apparently Aquaman show up and tie into all of it too thus forming the core of the Justice League.
Expectations are high and fans are buzzing and Posterservice is going to wade into the battle. Coming soon are two new posters that represent either side of the fight. Are you for the Savior of Metropolis or the Bat of Gotham? Why not both? Hedge your bets a little.
If you can’t wait or choose a side you can pick up our “Batman Vs. Superman” teaser poster.
Once you have your posters, you’ll want frames to hang them on the wall. At Frame USA we have a great selection of poster frames, as well as wood and metal frames. There are several that would be ideal for one of these BVS posters but it might be cool to go with our Metal I series of frames. Maybe a shiny red or blue frame for your Superman poster and a black one for your Batman, hung side by side.
So keep an eye out for our new posters and meanwhile, check out all of our great movie posters in sizes like 24×36 and 16×20. Then, sit back and wait for the battle between these two comic book titans. It will be exciting!
Uh oh! You forgot that you needed a picture frame for Gramma’s birthday! You were going to give her a picture of you and your sisters learning cross-stitch from her when you were kids. You wanted something a little nicer than what the stores have but when you order online they usually take time to be built. If only it could ship out tomorrow, it would be here in time!
Well, in this scenario, your wish can be a reality. Here at Frameusa we have Fast Ship items. Certain frame sizes in a selection of common colors in our most popular frame series are kept in stock to be shipped within 24 hours of an order being placed. That means you can place an order for one of these frames on Monday and it will leave our warehouse by the end of the day Tuesday and be on its way to you.
How do you tell what’s a Fast Ship item and what’s not? How do you know if it’s in stock? Items that are Fast Ship have a unique item number. It’s the same as the non-fast ship version (you can still have them built at the normal 6-8 business day time frame if we don’t currently have any in stock) but it has the letters FAS in front of it, and it’s in red.
You could go through each picture frame series, item by item, checking to see if that frame has Fast Ship items. That could be a long and tedious process though with the wide and varied selection of frames we have. That’s why we have a tab at
the top of our website–“24 Hour Shipping”–that contains every series that has Fast Ship items. You can go straight to them, find a series that you like and then check to see what sizes and colors are available for 24 hour shipping, and if they’re in stock.
You’ll find frames from each category reprensented here–wood frames, metal frames, shadowboxes–they all have items that we keep in stock in those particular colors and sizes.
So now you know that if you need a high quality but affordable picture frame to ship out quickly there are options at Frameusa. Have fun choosing your Fast Ship frame!
Hi, my name is Taylor, customer Service Representative for Frame USA. I by no means am an artistic person, but I do appreciate art that carries meaning. When I hear from a customer who is looking to frame a diploma, wedding portrait, first day of school picture or any other special occasion I put myself in their shoes. There is no better feeling than finally choosing a frame for that piece that means so much to you and hanging it in your home.
My husband and I purchased our first home almost a year ago. The first
piece of art we purchased was actually from a family member. My uncle Marvin Espy is an artist, designer and photographer who now resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. He sketched an image we sent him of our twin boys and produced an AMAZING piece of art. I couldn’t wait to frame it. I chose the Corporate Wide Grey Barnwood picture frame. Looks pretty amazing wouldn’t you say?
Next I wanted to find frames for our kids’ newborn pictures. We had guests at our baby shower sign the mat around our twin’s pictures welcoming them as soon as they got home. Unfortunately the frame was broken during the move. The Corporate Wide frame we used for the sketch looked so good we decided to get two more!
I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the art in my husband’s man cave. He is a boxing fan so I thought why not get him “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali poster from Posterservice with Frame USA’s Architect
Walnut picture frame. It was a hit!
The picture frame is just as important as the piece of art. The choice of frame can make or break its’ presentation so make sure the frame you choose compliments your art piece and is of made of quality materials. I certainly feel I made great framing choices.
Frame USA is excited to announce we were named 2015 Large Business of the Year by the Sharonville Chamber of Commerce! It is a huge honor and we are humbled to have been nominated with the other finalists, CityDash, General Mills and Princeton City Schools. Thanks so much to the Sharonville Chamber of Commerce. We are grateful.
Valentine’s Day is all about letting someone special know that you’re thinking about them. One way to do that is by getting them a gift. You can buy something expensive (like jewelry), or something you know they need (like a gardening trowel) but the gifts that leave the biggest impression are the ones that have meaning behind them. The thoughtful presents that you create yourself that shows your valentine how well you know them. A great way of doing this is by putting significant photos or mementos from a special moment into picture frames and then customizing those frames.
At Frame USA we have a number of different frames that would be perfect for creating this kind of unique Valentine’s Day present.
This is an unfinished picture frame with a flat profile that comes in 3 different widths (1.5″, 2″ or 3″). It is created especially
for crafting. You can paint it, glue on it, and use a wood burning pen, anything you can think of to decorate the frame. You could get small wooden hearts or other Valentine’s Day items (even those little candy hearts) and affix them to the frame with an inside that reminds the person of a fun time you’ve had together.
This frame is another unfinished wood frame (as the name might suggest). Like the Decorate It, the Unfinished series comes in 3 different profiles, but these are more decorative with some scoops and beveling in the frame. This picture frame could be painted in a rosy, reddish or dark pink color with a picture of you and your valentine together held within it. A classy way to celebrate your relationship.
Maybe you don’t have a lot of time or are just not good at crafting, painting or applique. You can still customize a frame for
your sweetheart to create a special memory. At Frame USA we are able to laser engrave names and even logos onto certain frame series that are found in the Laser Engraving category. You can engrave on any or all of the frame rails, oriented how you like. The laser burns away the finish to show the wood (or metal) beneath. You can engrave their name, maybe dates or a special quote or song lyrics. The possibilities for making your valentine go, “Awwwww!” and look at you with puppy-dog eyes are endless.
Remember that time you and your valentine went to the___(theater, restaurant, beach, etc.) and they kept the___(ticket stub, receipt, shells you found, etc.)? Wouldn’t it be a great Valentine’s Day
surprise to put those in a nice display? Frame USA has several different shadowboxes that are just right for showing off mementos. In our Shadowbox Elite, Shadowbox Showcase or Barnwood Shadowbox (for those who appreciate a rustic look) you can mount those items to the foamcore backing and give your special someone a gift that is both stylish and thoughtful.
Not all valentines are ready for something so meaningful. Maybe it’s someone you’ve been dating for a short while–long
enough to get them something but not long enough to make them a memory box–well we still have you covered. You can always pick them up a poster from Posterservice and put it in one of Frame USA’s poster frames. We have music posters, movie and TV posters, humor, art prints, and scenic–anything anyone could have an interest in. You can find something they would like. This still shows that you know what they like and want without over-doing the sentiment.
So as February 14th gets closer, consider giving your valentine something they can hang on their wall and cherish for many Valentine’s Days to come.
You just bought yourself the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Kylo Ren poster from Posterservice and now you want to put it in a picture frame. You’re a huge Star Wars fan and maybe you got this one signed by Adam Driver (he plays Kylo Ren in case you are NOT a huge fan) and this poster needs some special framing. Unfortunately the local frame shop is closed for remodeling and you don’t want to wait four months to hang this prize.
There is a solution and it’s available 24 hours a day seven days a week. Frameusa.com has a unique feature that was created to help people who want custom framing but on their own terms and at a lower cost. This feature is called Build-A-Frame and it makes creating a custom frame simple. It lets you put your picture frame together step by step, all the while g living you a visual representation of the picture frame you are creatijg. You can even upload an image to have us print out and insert into your frame for you or, just to see how it will look once you put it in yourself.
When you’ve gotten your frame looking just how you like it, you can place your order directly from Build A Frame on the Frameusa.com website and we will build it just as you’ve specified it and ship it right to you! It’s fast, it’s easy and it’s affordable. So when you’re in need of a custom framing job, try doing it with Build A Frame!
Believe or not, before started working for team Frame USA, my family was (still are) loyal customers to this fine picture framing establishment! I especially adore the Custom framing department we have. There is an array of styles, from traditional to modern to myriads of different mats to create limitless framing combinations to help your artwork integrate into the luxury of your living space. And as a recurring visitor to our retail store, I’d like to welcome you to join the virtual tour of “The Art at Fort Kelley.”
I take great value and deep appreciation for pieces that preserve the good memories in my life. Here is a Shepard Fairey print I bought at the Contemporary Art Center when he was in town exclusively performing DJ at the CAC after party. It was also my first time interacting with the artist and letting me try out his custom made OBEY vinyl records, a fun experience that is hard to forget! Well, for sure now that I have this piece hanged and to view on a daily basis.
I also collect prints that revolve around my interests and inspirations, it might be remotely apparent to see that I may have
a geeky nature with the pop culture and sci-fi universe. This one is a Doctor Who illustration by Adriana Melo, a Brazilian artist. I admire her pin-up comic book cover style, among the composition and subjects involved, it exhibits a great summation of my favorite season of the show! The blue confetti frame style I chose out of our custom collection emulates the iconic blue TARDIS, the time machine that takes the characters on myriads of adventures by traversing through time and space.
As a bunch of artists living under the same roof, we have no shame in hanging up our own artwork around the
house. Well, maybe it’s just we have parents who like to express how proud they are of their kids. Here we exhibit a mixture between mine (far right) and my sister’s (middle and left) pieces we’ve done in college. As the maker of some of these pieces, I can support the fact that these were preambles to my current body of work. But it’s immensely interesting to see the personal growth from then to now. Here is
another painting I created back in ye olden college years: a master’s painting based on the one of the artworks at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s permanent collection. Maybe you’re wondering why there’s no face, well I’m sure there’s was a perfectly good reason back then for which I have none now.
Whenever I go to FrameUSA to get framing done, it’s just like going mall shopping for a dress. Attempting to find the best look to your artwork is imperative, regardless. Out of the wide variety of styles of frames and shades of mats they have, they can create countless of designs in order to cater to your preference and tailoring to your artworks figure. As my photos can attest, FrameUSA has done an excellent job helping me find the right dress for my artwork.
