We take customer feedback very seriously here at Frame USA, whether that involves us replacing a faulty order, thanking a customer for their kind words about our services, or… drawing unicorns on a box?
That’s right–one of our more eccentric customers frequently asks for any number of random drawings on their packages, and our team has really had fun with this in the past (we can recall doodles of a dancing penguin and a mummy/pirate duo playing jump-rope).
This time, we had our customer service representative (and talented illustrator) Kelley Kombrinck create the box art for our customer. Needless to say, they were very impressed!

Our customers at City Gear have used our products for quite a few of their stores. The urban apparel store recently requested a large custom order for frames that would be able to “comfortably” fit some of their jerseys and t-shirt brands. You can also see our frames in use on the upper walls, which were poster frames also bought from us!
The recent custom order was particularly interesting, however. Our team was tasked with finding an affordable option to frame their items (in this case, our In-Depth series), add custom D-ring attachments and provide special instructions on how to build exactly what they wanted in their stores. The result was so great, they shared their experience (and photographs) with us.

We received this great message from Grace Church after we helped them by donating 30+ Unfinished picture frames:

I bet that by now you have forgotten about us here in Wisconsin, or at least thought that we forgot about you and were acting like the 9 out of 10 lepers who failed to return to thank Jesus after they were healed. On the contrary, we want you to know that we have never stopped thanking you for your kindness and generosity to Grace Church.
It has taken a long time…. to mobilize the missionaries to send in a new picture, to get the frames stained, to order the vinyl and then to get the authorized person to hang the frames on the wall. … The frames are in a really nice formation, and on two different walls as you leave the sanctuary. One side is for Global missionaries and the other for U.S. missionaries….”

If you have received any of our recent emails, you may be asking yourself: Who is Superframer and where did he come from? See, it’s kind of a funny story…
Superframer was developed several years ago by one of our own employees, Neil Herrin. Neil, our IT Manager, has always had a love for comic books and action figures. At the time, our Marketing team was considering developing a new website called SuperFramer.com. We thought that this new website needed a face and identity to it. From this concept, Superframer came about! Neil took it upon himself to create this great identity for Superframer and we loved what he developed.
As we started to develop our new Frame USA website in 2011 and 2012, we knew we wanted to add a Build A Frame feature to the site. What is Build A Frame you might ask? Build A Frame allows you, the customer, to choose an image, mat, frame, glazing, and backing all together in a simple ordering process.
We wanted to develop a way for our customers to order everything together, instead of having to continue to order these items on different websites. One of our number one goals has been and will always be to simplify what we do for our customers. We want our customers to love our ordering process, think it is simple, and always want to come back to Frame USA. Raving Fans is what we are all about and our main goal is to make you a Raving Fan of Frame USA!
SuperFramer is the designing force behind our new Build A Frame feature on www.frameusa.com. He puts a name, face, and identity to this feature and certainly adds some fun as well!

Our poster division, Posterservice Inc., is very fortunate to have such a diverse customer base. Music stores, museums, smoke shops, poster distributors, Spencers, college book stores and educational resource vendors all depend on Posterservice for the hottest images in poster printing and publishing.
One service that our customers particularly enjoy is a service offered by Posterservice called plaque mounting. Plaque mounting is a display option that allows you to preserve your image my mounting an image on wood, followed by laminating the image in a transparent seal that turns an ordinary wood mount into… well, a plaque! Chances are, if you’ve visited any home decor shop, you’ll find a great assortment of beautiful art prints inside of a plaque.
Kandy Myny – artist, entrepreneur and our number 1 plaque customer – has used Posterservice for just a short period, since February 2011. In this time she has placed an average of 6 orders a month, each order totalling a substantial amount of plaques. It’s customers like Kandy that any business is proud to serve. She loves our wood mount product so much that it is one of the main items she sells showcasing her beautiful art!

Since the beginning of 2013, we’ve been working on a web app that would bring a powerful custom framing tool and easy-to-use interface right at your fingertips. Our tool will allow you to select a poster, upload your own image, or select your image dimensions. From there, you can decide on what kind of mat you would like – single, double or triple – and what colors and corners you would like. You will then select your frame of choice, followed by backing and glazing options. Once you’re all set, you’ll simply check out and your frame will be on its way in 5-7 business days!
Your frame will come to your door 100% complete and ready to hang. Without a doubt, Build A Frame will be an experience you certainly won’t forget! With a simpl UI design and precise control over your design, you’ll wonder how you ever spent so much money on custom framing at your local frame shops. Did you know that at Frame USA, we have our very own engraving machines?
Previously, we’ve stuck to taking laser engraving orders over e-mail, volume framing quotes or phone calls, but with the launch of our new website, we decided to build an engraving web app from scratch! Today, we’re going to walk your through the process of placing orders for your very own engraved frames–without the outrageous prices you find in retail.
Your First step is simple–just click on the “Laser Engraving” tab on the top navigation! (In the image above, we have highlighted the tab in yellow so that you can locate it on our site.) This will set you on your way to creating your very own, unique product.
Once you’ve clicked the Laser Engraving tab, you will be taken to this page. This lists all the different frames that you can engrave and personalize! Just as a general rule of thumb, you’ll want to try to stick to darker colors. We highly recommend our Corporate series for engraving–customers can’t get enough!
We’ve selected our best-selling Corporate series for this demonstration, so let’s begin! First, you will select the color that you would like to engrave. Please note that not all colors are available for engraving (mainly due to color issues with wrap/MDF construction.)
Once you’ve decided on a color that you’re pleased with, it’s time to scroll down to the volume order form. Here you will select the color and size of the frame you would like to engrave. You’ll do this by clicking the boxes right-most column called “Engrave?”. After clicking, simply select the quantity that you would like. After you’ve added all of the frames you desire, scroll below and click “Engrave & add to cart”.
You will then be directed to this listing page, which is mainly to inform you of what you have selected. Click on the prompted button to continue to the custom Laser Engraving application.
Here we are, the personalization page! At this step, you will personalize your very own engraved picture frame. The choices are limitless–not only can you select any of our engraveable frames, but you can select whether you would like to engrave DIRECTLY onto the frame OR use one of our four plate options. These options include Rounded and squared shapes in both gold and silver. We also have a wide selection of fonts to choose from, as well as the ability to upload your own logo or image!
Speaking of uploading your logo, your results will be at their premium if you upload a high-quality image. The image will upload to the page small, and if you have uploaded a color image, please not that it will be adjusted to monochrome. Therefore, for best results, we advise that you upload a high-quality, black and white version of your logo. Also, please take note that there is acharacter limit for this app, but you can contact customer service for ANY special requests and we would be happy to find a solution and create a detailed mockup for you.
After you have customized your frames and are satisfied with the result, your next step will direct you to this page. You will be able to view all of the information that you entered into the previous page. Be sure to proofread your information, then confirm your information by clicking the checkbox. To check out, click the “Add to Cart” button and continue.

Most of you are familiar with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer who began a “Made in America” pledge last year by claiming that if every American spent $3.33 on U.S.-made goods, it would create almost 10,000 new jobs in the country. She urged viewers to pledge to take a look at their yearly purchases and increase the percentage of goods purchased that are made in America.
With the American economy stagnating and unemployment rates ranging in the 8% level, now is the time for all of us to think about what we can do to help. According to Roger Simmermaker, author of “How Americans Can Buy American”, it is a fallacy that most U.S. made products cost more. Sometimes it just takes more research to see what other brands are out there and which retailers are selling them.
Last week my wife and I spent a week rehabbing a unit we own in South Carolina. We were on a tight time schedule (we had one week to finish an entire unit) and had to work fast. When we looked at furniture we didn’t see a lot of American Made Products—in fact most were foreign. You can’t buy everything American all the time. But what you can do is slide your scale more in favor of buying American. If a consumer achieves even a 50% level of buying American-made products, they would be doing a great service to the Country and all those looking for jobs.
If you boosted the amount of American Made Products that you were buying this year how many jobs would it create in America? Imagine if 335 million people did this……
Get your children involved in this adventure. It is our job to teach our kids to buy affordable, high quality American made products that are both appealing and safe. Children must learn from a young age the importance that supporting ourselves has on our economy, and really their future. With only one out of every two College graduates finding a job it is time we tried a different approach.
