Do you love great savings on picture frames? We do too! So head on over to our sister site, FrameCloseouts.com! We are offering 48% off all closeout frames for 48 hours only.
Our closeout picture frames are usually overstock items from our main catalog line. While you can choose the size and color in most cases, the style is unknown and that is how we are able to offer such incredible savings on these frames. We will take requests for matching items, but since they are overstock, the order will be filled based on what is available.
All closeout frames will come complete, just may come with slight variations from our normal picture frame fills. This means a frame could have glass or styrene (plexi-glass), an easel or flat backing, and may or may not have a mat.
Don’t miss out – shop today at FrameCloseouts.com with coupon code 4848 before this amazing deal on picture frames ends at midnight EST on 8/21!
In a recent New York Times piece, a new method of artistic gallery display was announced: a digital canvas.
Not to be confused with the digital picture frame, a digital canvas seems to be the new way to display artwork for gallery presentation when displaying artwork created digitally. This also works very well for photography!
Will it ever replace the picture frame in the world of art galleries? We say “of course not!” But it is certainly a great new way to show off your digital art, and could potentially pair beautifully with something like our Shadow Boxes or In-Depth frames. You can find out more on Electric Object’s website.
For those who want a slightly more classy frame but don’t want to break the bank at a custom frame shop – we have some great news! All of our Premium Wood closeouts on FrameCloseouts.com are now 30% off!
In most cases, we’ll discount the entire Frame Closeouts website or offer our colored frames at a discount. This time though, we wanted to shine the spotlight on our premium wood closeouts. The benefit of these premium wood closeout frames is their art gallery-style appearance and equally impressive low price point. When you order a premium closeout, we select from our fast ship / closeout inventory of thousands of high-quality, ready-to-ship frames. If you’ve been wondering about our Closeout services, give it a try while this sale is under way!
This month, we check Pinterest for some great DIY projects for framing and “Around the House” decor.
Doing big projects yourself can save you and your family hundreds of dollars — particularly when it comes to home renovations and making your decor stand out. It doesn’t have to be expensive to look expensive, and really, that’s what crafting your own projects is all about. In this blog, we’ll show you some great ways to make an ordinary frame into something far more extraordinary. You can find these ideas and more by visiting our Pinterest page!
Use a picture frame shell to hang your keys
If Pinterest has taught us anything, it’s that frames aren’t just for framing pictures! Take this example, where a crafty DIY-er screwed some basic wall hooks into the interior of their frame. Search around online and you’ll find plenty of uses for frames besides hanging art: chalkboards, mirrors, hangers and more have been crafted from any standard frame.
Give your frames a new look with dipped corners
Need to spice up a frame, or add a better focal point for your image? Try (carefully) dipping the four corners of your frame into a can of paint! The result takes on the appearance of what is shown above. The tricky part is knowing how far to dip, but a good rule is to measure about 1-2 inches on each side, mark it with a pencil, and then proceed to dip. This is great for matching more than one color in a room, or spicing up your simple black picture frames you may have around the house.
Spray-paint an ornate frame for a more simple, subdued elegant picture frame
While the burlap letter art within the frames are great, we’re more impressed by the paint job on the frames themselves. Some ornate, some simple–a decent spray paint job can entirely changle the look of a frame for the better. While we take pride in our premium wooden frames, we could definitely see series like the victorian and napoleon working very well in the style shown above.
As always, don’t be afraid to think outside the box (or frame)!
Framing is oftentimes most interesting when there is an experimental element added on. Take the image above for example: the separation of the branch is unified throughout the three frames. The aesthetic of the piece is phenomenal, and the crafter only used three frame shells and a branch!

From the Frame USA family to yours: Happy 4th of July weekend!
At Frame USA, we pride ourselves at being pretty good with gallery presentations. There’s a lot that goes into launching your first fine art presentation – whether you’re displaying sculpture, installation or 2D artwork. People will be looking at your layout as much as they’ll be looking at the art itself! Because of the sometimes-puzzling nature of galleries, we put together a list of 5 tips for your art or photo exhibition.
1. Present your art well.
First thing’s first – have some high-quality photos of your work! If you’re a photographer, you should be good to go. Make sure that your work is printed on the best possible paper for your shots. For artists of other varieties, you still need to have good quality photos of your work to get you through the gallery doors. Either way, your work will need to be presented in a way that highlights your work. Should your work be screen-printed? Should it be laminated? Should it be framed? Matted? A popular option is floater frames for canvas work, or a sleek in-depth picture frame for eye-popping quality. Consider your options, there are many!
2. Research your gallery.
Time for some logistics! Who are you targeting in this area? What can you do to bring in buyers and gallery-hoppers? Explore different venues of social media, put up flyers in some local coffee shops, tell your friends and family. Are you trying to sell or just create some buzz about your work? These will ultimately affect the vibe of your gallery and any type of events you may have.
3. Think in layouts.
Establish which prints, paintings and sculptures will need to be the focal point of your display. Obviously they will all have value to you, but it’s important to know which pieces look best under what kind of lighting, at what height to display your piece, whether the picture frames you use are appropriate, etc. You’ll need measuring tape and sample lighting to decide what’s best for you!
4. Know your art.
Before you even start the process of displaying your gallery work, ask yourself the hard questions. What makes your art unique, and what will you say to any buyers? What is your focus as an artist? Knowing yourself and your art will save you time and embarrassment moving forward. Don’t be rehearsed, instead, be comfortable and confident in your abilities.
5. Enjoy the process.
Don’t become caught up in a black-and-white mindset of success or failure. Enjoy the process of what it means to have a gallery presentation! This is your project with your artwork, and it is definitely a learning process. Your first show may have been a flop in your mind, but in the end it’s valuable experience that will help you be more successful at your next showing.
As always, be sure to leave any questions for us and we’ll answer to the best of our abilities!
This weekend only, our metal frames are 10% off. What kinds of work will you be framing this summer?

Community. Whether you’re a business, a family, a nonprofit or an individual, you are formed and molded by your local communities. At Frame USA, we feel that communities from all across the United States can benefit from a little help here and there; especially when they’re making positive differences in their area. We received this great message from Grace Church after we helped them by donating 30+ Unfinished picture frames:
“Dear Dan [CEO, Frame USA],
I bet that by now you have forgotten about us here in Wisconsin, or at least thought that we forgot about you and were acting like the 9 out of 10 lepers who failed to return to thank Jesus after they were healed. On the contrary, we want you to know that we have never stopped thanking you for your kindness and generosity to Grace Church.
It has taken a long time…. to mobilize the missionaries to send in a new picture, to get the frames stained, to order the vinyl and then to get the authorized person to hang the frames on the wall. … The frames are in a really nice formation, and on two different walls as you leave the sanctuary. One side is for Global missionaries and the other for U.S. missionaries….”
Needless to say, we were glad to help such a great cause. Do you have any deserving causes that you’d like to see mentioned or considered for our Charity of the Month? Leave a comment below, or visit our Charity page to learn more.
*Note that these frames were sent as Unfinished frames, but wood-stained by the recipients. Just another way to add your own personal touch!
